Diane von Furstenberg is Launching a Costume Jewelry Line

I can only imagine that this collection will become as popular as her signature wrap dresses have over the years. I look forward to seeing the statement pieces.

After a 30-year hiatus, Diane von Furstenberg is returning to the jewelry sphere with a range of costume pieces. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the beloved designer’s new line of necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets was done in partnership with Haskell Jewels—a company whose chairman and chief executive officer, Frank Fialkoff, worked with von Furstenberg 30 years ago.

“I still am doing fine jewelry, but people ask me for costume jewelry,” the iconic 67-year-old designer told WWD. “They want to have the $300 necklace.”

And $300 necklaces are what bauble-hungry shoppers will find when going through von Furstenberg’s new line, though the costs do range dramatically. Priced from $68 to $628, this new venture is far more accessible than the designer's high-end jewelry collection, Diane von Furstenberg by H.Stern. “I really love jewelry that makes noise and makes a statement,” she said.

“I also like fluidity in jewelry. It’s all treated like fabric.”
